Bachelor of Design
(Animation and Interactive Media)

Students in this program explore animation in its many forms, from 2D and 3D animation, to stop motion, visual effects, motion graphics and post-production. Students learn all aspects of the process, starting with storytelling, concept development and image making through to character design, movement and cinematography. Animation provides a creative and supportive environment with practical courses and studios that prepare our students for industry through intellectual investigation, conceptual development and wide-ranging technical skills.

Bachelor of Design
(Games)

The RMIT Games program combines art, design, programming and play. Students forge their professional and creative identities through
inter-disciplinary collaboration, community involvement and ties to vital audiences.

Our graduating students have collaborated to combine their specialist technical and design skills in studio projects to bring their capstone games to life. These projects will open the doors to their future careers, in local and international games industry, or wherever their paths may take them.

Bachelor of Design
(Digital Media)

The RMIT Bachelor of Design (Digital Media) program views design as an expansive practice that contributes to and transforms social, technological and environmental conditions of the 21st century. Students specialise in interactive media, digital video, digital sound and digital environments, building skills that continue to challenge and shape the ever-changing discipline.

Bachelor of Design
(Communication Design)

Concrete is omnipresent; wherever you gaze, you’ll encounter elements crafted from this material. It serves as the very foundation upholding monoliths and skyscrapers.

Just as concrete is the cornerstone of architectural marvels, the 2023 Bachelor of Communication Design graduating students symbolise the foundation of a more progressive and ground-breaking design industry. This graduate exhibition marks the beginning, a stepping stone for what is to come.

Bachelor of Industrial Design (Honours)

The Bachelor of Industrial Design (Honours) is where aspiring designers develop the skills to invent, visualise, validate and realise product/system solutions for complex problems. Our four-year Honours program develops graduates who are creative and critical thinkers and makers, managerial minded, sustainability focused, and designers who seek out future positive impact across a diverse range of practices.

Master of Communication Design

MCD is the Master of Communication Design – and a Mesoscale Convection Discussion, a short-term technical weather forecast, or nowcast of medium size or extent.

Mesoscale is a short-term design forecast or nowcast, operating between microscale and macroscale, which brings together a diverse community of expanded communication design practice and design-led research.

Master of Animation, Games and Interactivity

Our students are encouraged to think beyond the scope of the classroom. MAGI students seek real world outcomes for their work, in the form of exhibitions, collaborations, presentations, and bring that work back to the studio community.

Graduates have undertaken a number of major studio works in their chosen specialisations, as well as a substantial amount of research when they complete their studies.

Master of Design Innovation and Technology

As innovation in design practice is positioned at the intersection of several disciplines, our students have the opportunity to address issues from a wide variety of professions such as engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, industrial design, service design, graphic design, animation, interaction, lighting, media and sound design. This year's exhibition is only available at our event but you can view a range of projects here at our MDIT Website.

Master of Design Futures

Many of the social, cultural, political and professional structures that support our communities have remained static and unchallenged for generations.

Our education, healthcare and primary production systems, our workplaces and our products need to keep up. We need design leaders, design strategists and design thinkers to dismantle these structures, and to dissect and solve some of our most complex problems. Whether it’s rethinking the way remote communities access healthcare, creating a less risk-averse corporate culture or developing a more individualised education system, our world needs more innovative thinkers and communicators; people with the knowledge and skills to design our future.
